About Our Club
A friendly club for all ages, set in scenic Plimmerton
Plimmerton Croquet Club is home to a vibrant and welcoming community of over 70 members who enjoy Golf Croquet, Association Croquet, Ricochet — and occasionally, a fast-paced game of Speed Ball. Our four well-maintained lawns are set among beautifully kept gardens, creating a picturesque and relaxing environment for play.
Croquet is a sport that combines skill, strategy, and social connection. It’s suitable for all ages and abilities - from teenagers to those in their 90s - with men and women competing on equal terms. Whether you're here for fun or focused on competitive play, there's a place for you at Plimmerton.
We welcome visitors from other croquet clubs year-round. Visitor fees are $5 per half day, including refreshments, and club mallets are available for use.
Our lawns are open throughout the year, with the main playing season running from September to May. We cater to both social players and those keen to compete at higher levels. If you’re new to croquet and interested in joining, see information about Joining Our Club.
Each year, we host Have a Go days - a great opportunity for the public to try croquet in a relaxed setting. Click the Have a Go button for upcoming dates and details.
You’ll find us on Plimmerton Drive, just off Ulric Street - a short stroll from Plimmerton Village, the beach, and the train station. We’re located approximately 25 km north of Wellington.
